Data is supplied by external consultants, contractors or suppliers in the IFC file format and loaded into a staging area where it is checked before the final loading into the building data model.

The external data could be either modifications to existing data (that was previously exported) because of building modifications or renovations, or the external data could be new data that has resulted from building additions.

The staging area ensures that any data due to be loaded is valid, conforms to the required standards and performs the required functional changes to the building data.

All data is checked and validated prior to final uploading to the ActiveFacility system.
